Base Sending Segment
All of your regular email broadcasts should be sent to this segment.
This segment includes your most engaged subscribers and automatically purges unengaged subscribers that add no value and can only hurt the health of your list.
- Clickers – subscribers who have clicked on a link in your newsletter.
- Openers – subscribers who have opened an email.
- Added – subscribers who have recently been added. Some call new to file or new subscriber.
Re-Activation Segment
Also known as a re-engagement segment, it is used to try and re-activate subscribers who have fallen off your Base Sending Segment.
This segment should only be sent once a month, once every two weeks, or once a quarter depending on your sending frequency and the health of your list.
Reporting Segments
These segments are vital to monitor the deliverability of your emails at an ISP level.
Not all ESPs have stats broken down this way, so by creating these segments we can monitor and dig into any delivery issues that may occur.
